چکیده

In Ref. [3] we have presented a way to calculate corrections beyond mean field, resolving issues related to the complex fermion determinant in the PNJL model. This is achieved by means of a perturbative approach establishing a systematically ordered series of correction terms. We define the unperturbed model by the Taylor expansion up to second order in the fields of the real part of the bosonized effective action of the NJL model1 plus the effective Polyakov loop potential2. The first term in such a Taylor expansion defines the mean field limit. Higher orders (beyond mean field) are treated using perturbative techniques. As a prominent example the thermal expectation values of the Polyakov loop 〈Φ〉 and its conjugate 〈Φ∗〉 are investigated here. Due to corrections beyond mean field the quantity 〈Φ〉−〈Φ∗〉 assumes non-vanishing values once

A non-local covariant extension of the two-flavor Nambu and Jona-Lasinio (NJL) model is constructed, with built-in constraints from the running coupling of QCD at high-momentum and instanton physics at low-momentum scales. Chiral low-energy theorems and basic current algebra relations involving pion properties are shown to be reproduced. The momentum-dependent dynamical quark mass derived from ...

Aspects of thermal strange quark production: the deconfinement and chiral phase transitions

We study the gluonic sector of the three-flavor PNJL model by obtaining the adjoint Polyakov loop and the gluon distribution function in the mean-field approximation. Besides, we explore the thermal strange quark pair-production processes, qq̄ → ss̄ and gg → ss̄, with the aid of the threeflavor PNJL model. The results help us identify the temperature where the gluonic contribution to the productio...

Gauge dynamics in the PNJL model: Color neutrality and Casimir scaling

We discuss a gauge-invariant prescription to take the mean-field approximation selfconsistently in the PNJL model (Nambu–Jona-Lasinio model with the Polyakov loop). We first address the problem of non-vanishing color density in normal quark matter, which is an artifact arising from gauge-fixed treatment of the Polyakov loop mean-fields. We then confirm that the gauge average incorporated in our...

The Wigner solution and QCD phase transitions in a modified PNJL model

By employing some modification to the widely used two-flavor Polyakov-loop extendedNambu–Jona–Lasinio (PNJL) model, we discuss the Wigner solution of the quark gap equation at finite temperature and zero quark chemical potential beyond the chiral limit, and then we try to explore its influence on the chiral and deconfinement phase transitions of QCD at finite temperature and zero chemical poten...

QGP Susceptibilities from PNJL Model

Under the extreme conditions of temperature and/or density a phase transition is expected in the QCD phase diagram. In fact, there are two phase transitions at these extreme conditions, namely the confinement to deconfinement phase transition and the chiral phase transition. These two phase transitions are defined in two extreme quark mass limits. For infinite quark mass limit confinement to de...
